Have your say! Lesnes Abbey Woods
Essex Cultural Diversity Project is currently working with Bexley Council to shape a programme of activities especially designed for diverse communities, centred in and around Lesnes Abbey.
We’d love to hear from diverse communities and organisations around the Abbey Wood area and beyond, including Bexleyheath, Woolwich and Dartford: What are your thoughts on the park, what events and activities would you like to see, and how would you like to use the park?
Got an opinion? Then get in touch! Email us at valerie@essexcdp.com
Based on your views, Bexley Council will organise a range of events, such as a Community Day, Volunteer Taster Day, Walks and Talk… all shaped by the community.
This community consultation and project is part of Bexley Council’s National Lottery Heritage Fund programme, which aims to launch a number of activities to engage communities in their area, providing introductions to the park and its wider offer. Working with Essex Cultural Diversity Project this will involve a staged approach to engaging local residents, with a strong focus on diverse communities. Lesnes Abbey is keen to provide an important resource for many local communities who are currently not visiting or using the available spaces.
Lesnes Abbey Woods is a stunning 88 hectare park with 12th century ruins, ancient woodlands, recreation area, lodge and refreshment kiosk. Located near Abbey Wood train station, Lesnes Abbey Woods is a Green Flag park open to everyone.
