Diwali at Essex Cricket Club County Ground

Essex Cricket Club in partnership with Essex Cultural Diversity Project are celebrating Diwali at the Essex Cricket Club County Ground on Sunday 5 November 2023 with a Diwali Soft Ball Festival featuring cricket, food, entertainment, and a light show.

The celebrations will start at 4.45pm until 8pm with indoor 6-a-side women’s soft ball cricket.

The Diwali celebrations aim to encourage more diverse communities to engage with Essex Cricket Club through a range of different initiatives.

Essex Cultural Diversity Project has been working in partnership with Essex Cricket over the last 12 years through various initiatives including providing cultural activities, engagement with diverse communities and promoting community cohesion at the County Ground. This year groups from the Bangladeshi and Pakistani communities attended the Bangladesh v Ireland match in May, and EID Celebrations with the Chelmsford Muslim Association at the County Ground.

Recently Essex Cricket Club welcomed India International player Arshdeep Singh to the County Ground for the Essex v Kent match with Chelmsford Sikhs and signed Indian cricketer Umesh Yadav for the final last three matches of the LV County Championship matches.
