Come and celebrate women in sport with creative activities on the streets of Chelmsford, and welcome Women’s International T20 Cricket: England vs India to the city!

This May, Chelmsford’s Ambassador Cruise Line Ground will host a Women’s International T20 cricket match: England vs India.

To welcome the T20 teams and celebrate women in sport, we are inviting all to enjoy pre-match celebrations on Tindal Square, in front of the Shire Hall.  Throughout the afternoon, expect cricket-themed games, live acts and music, and pop-ups from local community groups and sports clubs.

Following an afternoon of community fun, all are invited to watch a colourful procession, which will begin at 4.30pm and make its way through the city, down to the cricket ground, ahead of the match at 6.30pm.

A new mural by 7th Pencil

As part of Concrete Canvas, the street art festival taking place across the city this month, street artist 7th Pencil is creating a new large-scale mural in Market Square. The piece is a bold and vibrant celebration of women in Sport, capturing the energy, diversity and achievement of women athletes from across Essex. Commissioned by Chelmsford For You, Chelmsford City Council and Essex Cricket.
