Women Assemble
For International Women’s Day

Women Assemble was a gathering of incredible women from all walks of life, who came together to be inspired by powerful mini-talks, engage in thought-provoking discussions, and connect with like-minded individuals who believe in the strength of women.

Activities included:
Long Table Talks and Discussions | Art, Movement, Music and Dance | Workshops | Interactive Displays | Venting Room | Healing Room

The event was organised by Women Assemble, a new organic collective of diverse women in Colchester, supported by Essex Cultural Diversity and the Eye of Boudica, and funded by Colchester City Council Cultural and Creative Events Fund.

The day was divided into three parts:

11.00 – 12.30 | PART ONE | ME, MYSELF AND I…
Women Assembled to explore healing, self-care, self-expression through drop-in workshops, discussions, and activities

12.30 – 14.00 | PART TWO | THE ASSEMBLY
Women were invited to connect and share a some nourishing soup at the Long Table, followed by mini-talks, soap-box shout outs and discussion.

14.00 – 16.00 | PART THREE | JOIN THE MOVEMENT!
Celebrating Women through music, dance and song

Women Assemble was part of ECDP’s Stand Up For Diversity series, bringing people together to champion diversity in the arts and in our communities, initiated in 2018 in partnership with Essex Book Festival.
