Sharing the wonders of nature at Old Hall
Essex Cultural Diversity Project is delighted to announce that we have received funding from The National Lottery Environment Fund to work in partnership with RAMA (Refugee, Asylum & Migrant Action), AFIUK (African Families in the UK) in Colchester, and Old Hall Community in East Bergholt.
Visits will be organised from culturally diverse communities in Colchester to Old Hall, an intentional community and organic farm in a rural location close to the River Stour where 50 people live and work together sustainably.
By connecting people to the environment through workshops and activities, increasing access and engagement for diverse communities to rural areas, and building connection to nature, this project will foster cultural exchange, learning about local biodiversity, taking part in river walks, growing food and planting trees together.
The project will include relaxed social activity in the countryside, sharing knowledge and experiences, making friends, and understanding intentional community living.
We would like to thank the National Lottery Environment Fund for giving us the opportunity to work with RAMA and AFiUK who are two brilliant charities in Colchester, and with Old Hall Community, who are generously hosting the project.
